Occupational Therapy

Hilltop Horizons provides community-based occupational therapy services for participants who have therapeutic need in both 1:1 and group settings. Each participant works with a licensed OT and has client-centered goals that support functional improvements in their daily life.

1:1 OT Utilizing Equine movement & environment

In our 1:1 sessions, a licensed occupational therapist creates a client-centered treatment plan and utilizes equine movement and the outdoor environment to work towards functional life goals set by the therapist and family. Therapy sessions are booked in 8-week increments that follow our program sessions (spring, summer, and fall) and require a free discovery session before enrolling.

Who we serve

Anyone who is experiencing challenges that limit their functional participation in their daily life can benefit from occupational therapy services. Commonly served populations include those with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, ADHD, Muscular Dystrophy, Down Syndrome, Intellectual and Developmental Disability, and Multiple Sclerosis - just to name a few.

BENEFITS OF occupational therapy utilizing equine movement & the outdoor environment

Providing occupational therapy services in a natural, equine-centered environment gives unmatched opportunities for:

  • Sensory integration activities in a setting that is naturally both stimulating and calming to meet many sensory needs.

  • Dynamic, three-dimensional movement provided by our equine partners that helps to strengthen core muscles and increase mobility to prepare for functional life activities.

  • Motivational treatment environment that improves overall goal achievement.
